MS REPORTING SERVICES REPORT DEVELOPER

Location: Plano, TX 75024 Employment Type: Full Time, Employee Pay Rate: 40.00 - 45.00 USD /hour80-85K+ on Conversion REQUIREMENTS: Minimum 2 years experience using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services. Minimum 1 year Reporting Services Administration experience. Experience using Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services and Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Business Intelligence Development Studio Minimum 5 years experience using Microsoft SQL Server Minimum 5 years experience using SQL and T-SQL Ability to work in non-structured environment with matrix management. Must have experience tuning and optimizing queries * Interested candidates must take an online technical test covering SQL Server 2005.ADDITIONAL SKILLS: Excellent analytical, writing, and interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate conceptual and technical architecture design both orally and in writing Degree in IT or equivalent work experience required Experience in transportation or supply chain is considered a plus Must be a team player and mentor less experienced colleagues  DESCRIPTION: Under General supervision, maintain and develop reports and dashboards using Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services.  Must be able to interface with customers and gather and document requirements.  Assist customers in researching data issues and designing reports. Administer Reporting Services portal. BASIC FUNCTIONS: Gather and document reporting requirements Assist in converting reports from Oracle Discoverer to Microsoft Reporting Services. Create new reports and dashboards in Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services and Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Business Intelligence Development Studio. Identify data elements from Data Warehouse and document requirements for new data elements Develop new reports/ dashboards or modify existing reports/ dashboards Follow Configuration Management process for developing and implementing reports Responsible for administering Reporting Services portal, including User Management, Configuration, and Managing runtime environment  OTHER DUTIES: Participate in design reviews and identify impact to Reporting Services reports and portal Identify and implement Best Practices for managing Reporting Services development and portal Work with Data Architects, Database Administrators, and Data Quality Analysts on data requirements and Quality Assurance ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services (SSRS) delivers enterprise, Web-enabled reporting functionality so you can create reports that draw content from a variety of data sources, publish reports in various formats, and centrally manage security and subscriptions.
