NewPage owns paper mills located in Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Nova Scotia and Wisconsin. These mills have a total annual production capacity of approximately 5.5 million short tons of paper, including approximately 4.3 million short tons of coated paper, approximately 920,000 short tons of uncoated paper and approximately 300,000 short tons of specialty paper, as well as approximately 3.2 million short tons of pulp.
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
Oversee and/or assist the mills with large capital projects that require electrical engineering experience with large equipment purchases and/or contractor bids and contract awards…..or electrical maintenance issues .
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Produce Phase II job scope and estimates (+/-10% for funding).
2. Prepare contractor bid packages and perform bid analysis towards award.
3. Prepare equipment bid packages and perform bid analysis towards award
4. Interface continuously with mill personnel for input, updates, etc
5. Oversee project work with eye toward schedule, performance, quality, cost, etc
6. Report project status updates to upper management
7. Communicate, communicate, and communicate!!!!!!!!
8. Assist mills with electrical issues including NFP 70E compliance, power distribution, etc
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
· 4 year science degree minimum
· 10 years of industry electrical experience …..project experience is a plus
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
· Excellent time management
· Project oversight & management
· Project estimating
· Good communications – written, spoken, email, etc.
· Good presentation skills
· Meeting facilitation skills
· Construction understanding (What goes into a project)
· Excel
· Power Point
· Access is a plus
· Microsoft Office
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Likely 50%, perhaps more on large projects.
