Nestled in Central Park and anchoring New York’s famous Museum Mile, the Met seeks a Deputy Chief Membership Marketing Officer to focus their energy on the museum’s development and fundraising activities including developing and monitoring a comprehensive membership marketing program that includes direct mail, web site marketing, telemarketing, on-site sales and sales through the Merchandise Operation. Bring your experience and be challenged as you:
Develop and implement all aspects of marketing campaigns. Review and analyze all marketing statistics on a regular basis and monitor results and trends. Work closely with numerous in-house staff and outside vendors to review contracts and implement marketing programs. Regularly attend meetings with related departments to represent Membership and implement cross marketing strategies. Assist with preparation of annual Membership Trustee Committee Meeting, report on marketing efforts, and prepare minutes of Meeting. Act as liaison with the Merchandise Department and coordinate and oversee all customer service issues relating from marketing efforts. Develop and maintain positive relationships with Members and Donors. Assist in planning and managing department income and expense budget. Individual will report to the Managing Chief Membership Officer and supervise one staff member, the Membership Officer for Marketing. Other related duties as necessary.
The self-starter we seek must bring dedication and a desire to excel. In addition, please have a: BA or BS degree. Minimum 5 years marketing experience required, membership marketing preferred. A through knowledge of MS Office software and fluency with a fundraising database such as PledgeMaker or Raiser's Edge. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing required. Skills in budgeting, campaign planning and analyzing reports required. Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and proof read required. Strong organizational ability and excellent interpersonal skills required. Individual must possess the ability to be professional, discrete and diplomatic. Strong customer service skills. Working knowledge of contract management preferred. Knowledge of museum industry preferred.
