POSITION TITLE: Assistant Maintenance Technician
DEPARTMENT: Maintenance
SUPERVISOR: Facilities Director
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for assisting with the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of the Child Development Center, including heating, ventilating, air conditioning, plumbing and electrical systems, and other general maintenance relative to the Center’s operation and upkeep. Complies with Wisconsin Administrative Code HFS 46: Licensing Rules for Group Day Care Centers and the NAEYC standards.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High school education or equivalent. .
Experience: Some maintenance experience a plus.
Skills: Good communication and interpersonal skills.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL EFFORT
Must be able to sit, walk, and stand routinely throughout the shift. (Sitting 5%, Standing/Walking 95%). Must be able to lift 50 pounds frequently and lift up to 100 pounds periodically. Must have functional senses including sight, speech, and hearing for effective communication to carry out job responsibilities. Must have good manual dexterity.
ENVIRONMENT AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Works anywhere within the building and the outside grounds as well as on the roof as needed. May be exposed to infectious or communicable disease when coming in contact with children.

B. Duties and Responsibilities
1. Assists Maintenance Lead with maintenance, calibration and safety inspections of all equipment.
2. Moves or relocates light furnishings and equipment as needed.
3. Performs work orders in a timely manner.
4. Adheres to safety rules and regulations per OSHA.
5. Adheres to Wisconsin Administrative Code HFS 46 and the NAEYC standards.
6. Performs general housekeeping duties including stocking and cleaning of restrooms and removes trash daily.
7. Keeps appropriate records on all daily duties.
8. Inspects, maintains and repairs equipment associated with Center.
9. Maintains the outside landscape (grass cutting, trimming, playgrounds, parking lots, cleanup, snow removal, etc).
10. Assists with security matters and monthly fire and/or emergency drills.
11. Assists with all deliveries.
12. Performs other duties as assigned.
