IT is an integrated group of departments whose basic objective is to provide information, data processing, communications, process enhancements, and systems to support the business and management activities of Sentry. Participates in the detailed identification and development of program and system specifications. Provides input on cost analyses, systems and program design, testing, and maintenance and documentation of new and existing systems. Responds to systems problems by analyzing the problem, formulating a solution, and changing or repairing the system to avoid costly interruption of services to users. Performs other job-related duties requiring the same general knowledge, skills and degree of responsibility commensurate with assigned level.Qualifications Bachelors Degree or equivalent education 4 or more years of related programming experience Several years experience in Java application programming Insurance industry experience is a plus Experience with developing Java web applications Experience with OOAD design principles and modeling tools. Experience in JEE technologies: JSP, Servlets, EJB, JNDI, JDBC, JPA (JPQL), JTA, JMS, XML, & XSD. Experience with web service technologies: JAX-WS & JAXB. Experience with Java application servers and working knowledge of Eclipse / WTP & ANT. Database experience with SQL Server and DB2; SQL and stored procedures. System integration experience and mainframe interoperability is highly desired. Compensation and Benefits The starting salary will depend on experience and qualifications.
