Presiding Court Commissioner
PRESIDING COURT COMMISSIONER We are searching for a Presiding Court Commissioner who will assist the Chief Judge in the direction and coordination of the work of judicial court commissioners and in the recruitment, selection, training, evaluation, certification, discipline and retention of judicial court commissioners. This is a challenging professional position in the unclassified service in Milwaukee County for an individual who possesses a thorough knowledge and understanding of legal proceedings under the jurisdiction of the circuit courts; extensive knowledge of pertinent judicial procedures; skill in analyzing and appraising facts; evidence and applying legal principles; the capacity to provide reliable and sound legal counsel; and, the ability to work effectively and harmoniously with judges, court administrators, staff members, attorneys, litigants, and the general public. Candidates must possess a valid license to practice law in the State of Wisconsin and three (3) years of experience in the practice of law, including experience in trial work and experience in the management and supervision of legal staff.
