Structural Department Manager

Explore the opportunity of world-changing work available to you below.• Manage, train and develop staff, and hire new staff to deliver design services in the area of Power Plant Design. Align department goals with Power Business Group and corporate goals. Provide technical leadership and mentoring to the staff. Assign staff to projects with attention given to qualifications, career development, technical requirements, client relations and cost. Promote quality assurance and quality control. Evaluate project backlog and pending projects to make decision regarding staffing levels. Set department goals, perform evaluations, and recommend pay raises. Evaluate, prepare, and update standard department design methods, tools, and specifications. Establish policies and procedures related to the practice of structural engineering. Perform and/or check structural design required to build power plant facilities and support plant construction. Prepare and/or check engineering man-hour estimates, and prepare design details required to complete bids for new power projects. Experience in Steel Concrete and Architectural preferred.Qualifications• 15 years experience in structural design. Proficient with structural design software and MS Office. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to make presentations.• BS in Structural Engineering• PE registration Preferred Qualifications • Proven leadership and management experience. Excellent problem solver and negotiator.
