CA for video service providers has its origins in the former Scientific Atlanta SciCare Broadband Services organization, which helped service providers launch networks and services, expand, upgrade and build networks, integrate Scientific Atlanta technology with third-party and legacy products, manage key projects, plan, design, test, certify, operate and maintain network systems and train staff members on the latest broadband technologies and techniques.  We are currently hiring in Lawrenceville, GA for the following: STAFF NETWORK SUPPORT ENGINEER MAJOR DUTIES: Successful candidate must work and participate in a team environment responsible for supporting customers in the operation of Cisco’s broadband delivery systems and video on-demand servers. Must understand and be able to troubleshoot video and data communication networks based on RF and Ethernet technologies. Develop systems strategies to maximize system performance, reliability, and security of broadband communication networks. Must be able to troubleshoot and resolve major system problems for broadband networks. This individual will support TCP/IP products in Cisco and other architecture and be responsible for pre-engineering issues and post-engineering upgrades. Develop, present and document network changes to existing systems. Analyze network bandwidth and Quality of Service requirements for multiple application networks. Must have excellent problem-solving, resolution and root cause analysis skills. Excellent technical writing/reporting and procedural documentation skills are required. Proactively identifies customer issues and problems and opportunities for new services. Must be willing to participate in after-hours escalation rotation. Operates with the highest level of integrity, ethical behavior, and professionalism and sets example for others to follow. Minimum Qualifications: 9+ years of industry-related experience 5+ years of progressive technical support experience (engineering or equivalent) 5+ years of Linux, UNIX, or Sun Solaris technical experience 5+ years knowledge of TCP/IP stack 1+ year experience with video analyzers, packet analyzers, and interpreting data to resolve complex problems 3+ year’s experience working with routers/switches 1+ year of software/hardware system integration techniques 1+ year of CATV equipment, HFC networking, video/set top box applications 1+ year understanding various routing protocols (OSPF/RIP/NAT/Multicast) 5+ years performing system level debugging and troubleshooting techniques 5+ years customer relations – communicate issues in a professional manner. 1+ year of Microsoft experience Education: BS in Computer Science, EE or equivalent, or AS in Computer Science, EE or equivalent, plus 18+ years of experience Travel: 15% Preferred Experience: Cisco certifications Work closely with engineering staff to resolve escalated customer issues Demonstrate ability to build relationships with cross-functional teams Ability to work with call center support personnel to troubleshoot problems over the phone Strong interpersonal and communications skills to build quality customer relationships Ability to use a network analyzer and interpret data to resolve network problems Cable experience - Analog video, MPEG-2, MPEG 4encryption, billing systems, VOD and interactive program guides desired. Expertise in complex configurations of broadband networks.
