Job Title:   Mechanical Engineer – CES (5)Location:   Centennial Denver OfficeReference:   047001Black & Veatch Corporation is a leading global engineering, consulting, and construction company specializing in infrastructure development in the fields of energy, water, and information.The Consulting Engineering Services (CES) Business Line provides a wide variety of engineering and consulting services to the Power Generation and Energy Intensive Industries sectors.  Our services are structured to assist our clients to evaluate potential projects, implement projects, and improve the performance of existing assets. Technical Focus:  Mechanical systems which include boilers, turbines, pumps, fans, cooling towers, heat exchangers, piping systems, valves, air quality control and monitoring equipment, water treating systems, fuel, ash and materials handling, fire protection. The Consulting Engineering Services (CES) group is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with the following:  Responsibilities· Develop, plan, coordinate and direct the mechanical engineering work for a major power plant project, or several smaller, but complex projects.  This includes work assignments, staffing, scheduling, and review.  · Develop or evaluate plans/criteria or special analyses required in support of the engineering effort.  · Develop new or improved techniques or procedures for application in unique engineering problems.  · Coordinate the design of assigned systems or projects with involved B&V personnel and client management.  · Maintain engineering records, lists, and reports as required to ensure compliance with the client’s schedule, adherence to the budget, adherence to procurement specification, and/or to ensure engineering problems are monitored and resolved. Qualifications· Requires a BS in Engineering, plus a minimum of 8 year’s experience performing mechanical engineering work in the power industry.· PE license or a current active pursuit of registration if not already registered. · Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Products, ability to lift 30 lbs., able to sit for extended periods of time in front of computer and be able to travel, up to 25% of the time.· Special Courses with a Power Systems focus are a plus. To Apply for this position, interested and qualified candidates should go to www.bv.com, click on “careers”, scroll down past the bottom of the page - click on “Opportunities”,  click on “Current Openings”, enter Requisition # 047001, and click on SEARCH.  This will bring you to the location where you are able to complete your application.  Our advanced thanks to you for your application.    Black & Veatch is an Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/D/V   Black & Veatch is an Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/D/V.
