Human Resource Manager

The Company:

ASO LLC is a world-wide leader in the manufacture and sale of branded and private label first-aid products. Since 1986, we’ve experienced double-digit growth year after consecutive year selling the highest quality products (adhesive bandages, tapes, and gauzes) through a wide variety of distribution channels. 

 

General Summary:

This position will be a key member of the Juarez management team, and will be responsible for the implementation and administration of human resource systems, policies, and procedures for Juarez in all functional areas including: staffing, compensation, employee relations, training & development, benefits administration, occupational health & safety by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates:



 

Responsibilities:



· Advise and support local managers and employees in all HR matters.

· Responsible for ensuring all employee and company policies and procedures are maintained and enforced within area of responsibility.

· Maintains knowledge of Mexican legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.

· Recruit, interview, and hire Juarez staff.

· Design and implement a communication strategy that provides clarity of direction to all employees.

· Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.

· Monitor team member turnover; identify key factors that can be improved; make improvements.

· Trains management in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment amongst other HR and Safety related topics.

· Identify creative ways to reduce cost by streamlining processes and systems (i.e.  Modification of responsibilities or consolidation of tasks, elimination of non-value-added processes, or complete re-engineering of processes and systems).

· Develop and maintain HR department budget.

· Other duties as assigned.

 

 Safety

· Plans and implements programs to train managers and employees in work site safety practices.

· Leads the investigation of accidents and injuries and cooperates in the preparation of material and evidence for organization use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations.

· Inspects organization facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.

· Provides information, signs, posters, barriers, and other materials to warn of potential and actual safety hazards and to prevent access to hazardous conditions.

· Maintains safety files and records.






 

Qualifications:

· Bachelor degree.  Business major preferred, HR Specialization a plus.

· 5-7 years of Human Resource Management Experience in a manufacturing environment.

· Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred.

· Good communicator, listener and team player.

· Proactive and outgoing personality.

· Knowledge of Compensation (including experience with payroll related issues) and Benefits.

· Knowledge of the Latin America market and its HR nuances will be considered a plus.

· Knowledge of Mexican labor laws and customs a must.
