Job Title:  Business Unit HR Manager
Location:  Dallas, TX

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Human Resources Manager is the lead Human Resources partner to specific functions operating within the business unit and is responsible for strategic thought into and execution against current and long term strategic people plans. Serving as a key partner by providing counsel on all people issues, the HR Manager also leads, develops, and directs a team of Field Employee Relations Managers in the execution of HR initiatives.

Provide advice and input on local compensation issuesExecute action plans in response to engagement, exit and pulse surveysExecute CRS initiativesLead change training, embed change management tools and methodology into the businessLead and develop impact plans business changes requiring behavior changeTeaching managers that the number one priority for a manger is providing thoughtful guidance to their direct reportsDetermine organizational health: listening sessions, pulse surveys, established management routines and visibilityConflict management: general employee issues, formal investigations, hotline calls, grievances, arbitrations and mediations (labor, solutions and EEOC)Union avoidance coaching and trainingPerformance management (PIPs)Negotiations preparation and bargainingContract administrationPerformance appraisalsExecute strategies to increase retention of higher performing employees, e.g., exit interview dataCommunicate, train and execute AAPs Participate in local outreachPolicy/process questionsWork with functional leads to conduct workplace planningImplement process improvement and value that improves capability, added result function or enterprise-wideStrike contingencyFacility staff meetingsOpen enrollment meetingsCurrent and long-rage people strategy development and planning for the designated client groupOrganizational effectiveness and efficiencyCreate and foster an inclusive culture by attracting, developing and retaining a highly talented and diverse workforceWork with Corporate Centers of Excellence to problem solve and execute enterprise-wide initiativesWork with Talent Acquisition and other functional business partners to develop overall workplace planning and front-line sourcing strategies – Interview external and internal talentWork with Talent Development on the development of front-line skill building strategiesPlan and execute TMR, Performance Management and Succession PlanningIdentify and engage HR Process concerning value adding opportunitiesDrive strategy within the function, the BU and the facilities to build capability and productivityFoster a culture where employees contribution/productivity remain high and increased retention
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of seven (5) years of exempt-level human resources experience; Minimum of three (3) years of human resources management / leadership experienceTen (10) or more years of exempt-level human resources experience; Previous consumer products experience; Previous manufacturing or distribution experience; Previous supervisory / management experience; Previous union avoidance experience; Previous experience working in a unionized environmentAbility to obtain, analyze and incorporate internal and external market intelligenceAbility to translate business strategies into HR practicesInnovativeReasonable contrarian that operates in a forward thinking and collaborative mannerProven ability to execute change management: 1) lead and create shared needs; 2) shape a vision and communication strategy; 3) change systems, processes and structure; and, 4) track progress and manage changeOrganizedMethodicalResults drivenSystems orientation
