Principal Job Function

Performs a variety of greeting and hosting services that contribute an atmosphere that supports a positive experience in the showroom.  Promptly and efficiently operates a high volume switchboard and reception area.

 

Qualifications

Requirements include a high school degree or equivalent and at least two years reception or customer service experience preferably in a showroom environment.  Must have excellent customer service and organizational skills as well as the ability to handle multiple tasks.  General computer skills highly desired.

 

Essential Job Functions

·  Greets clients warmly and determines qualifications to buy in the showroom.  Refers clients to the appropriate sales associate.

·  Establishes a positive relationship with clients by acknowledging, listening and responding to their inquiries and requests.

·  Ensures clients are serviced promptly by following up with sales staff when a client is kept waiting.

·  Tracks client traffic by maintaining a visitors log.

·  Answers and directs incoming calls courteously and efficiently including utilizing the paging system to locate staff.

·  Takes and delivers accurate messages for unavailable staff.

·  Maintains a neat and organized work area.

·  Participates in showroom housekeeping activities as needed.

·  Accurately completes paperwork to open new accounts.

·  Opens and distributes mail as well as preparing outgoing mail.

·  Performs general administrative duties including typing standard client letters and internal memos.  Maintains reports as requested.

·Assists showroom staff with special events and projects.

·  Performs other duties as assigned.
