Project Engineer / Lead Engineer – Medical Aircraft Interiors
At LifePort, our work involves the design and manufacture of life-saving medical aircraft interiors. This exciting position will deal with high mix, low volume, customized medical interior products, leading a team of designers, drafters, and other engineers to develop great products. There is a wide variety of tasks and problems to solve, which will keep you on your toes and never bored. Work includes conceptual designs, customer interactions, structural and mechanism design, product line organization, project management, static load testing, certification reports, stress analysis, and many other project engineering related activities. You must have experience and a passion for working in the aviation industry.
Specifics:
· Project management skills and team leadership required. Must be able to interact well with and direct the design efforts of others.
· Unusual talent for learning and conquering new, unfamiliar areas, and solving problems in the absence of perfect information.
· Must have a positive mind-set; be motivated, competitive, and self-driven to achieve greatness.
· Ability to combine lightweight, cost conscious design with some basic stress calculations.
· Mechanism design and ability to create extremely lightweight structures highly desired.
· Good working knowledge of low volume, lightweight machining and sheetmetal designs.
· Experience with 3-D CAD highly desired. SolidWorks preferred, but not required (will train the right candidate).
· Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, or equivalent.
· Ability to think through, predict, and solve problems before they occur at assembly or in the hands of our customer.
· Fast reactions and problem solving must be balanced with detailed focus at the right time.
· FAA certification (STC/TSO) knowledge and experience desired, especially with aircraft interior furnishings and arrangements. (Aircraft interior equipment such as seating, berths, monuments, and medical equipment).
· Structural test experience desired.
· Must be a personable, independent problem solver; able to run multiple projects simultaneously, manage critical schedule paths, and be able to make great things happen.

Compensation will range from 70-105K, depending on the value you bring to LifePort. In addition to profit sharing, there is an at-risk bonus program to reward those exceptional performers.
