POSITION AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

As a key member of the Pulse Staff and Technitrol’s Senior Finance Group, this position requires a decision-maker, champion of effective controls and best practices, and driver of top-level policy, corporate direction and major operational issues. Identifies, directs, controls, monitors and resolves critical business issues. Routinely interfaces with other members of the Pulse Staff, worldwide finance directors and controllers, Technitrol CEO and CFO, staff and external auditors.

 

The Vice President & Segment Controller is also responsible for the following:

 

·  Leads Pulse’s global finance operations for optimum business support, best practice utilization, low cost and compliance.  Develops strong financial leaders. 

·  Acts as change agent, transformation champion and driver of programs initiated by pulse President and staff and Technitrol senior management. Plays key role in identification and launch of such programs. 

·  Provides technical experience to operating issues affected by GAAP accounting requirements as well as international customs, legal, tax and governmental regulations. 

·  Directs the planning process, including financial analysis, forecasting and budgeting, in order to drive financial performance improvement and to measure performance against targets and expectations. 

·  Performs analysis of operations to determine areas for significant cost reductions and improved efficiencies. 

·  Ensures timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with applicable GAAP management reporting and regulatory and Technitrol requirements. 

·  Ensures the development, implementation and compliance of the Company’s accounting policies, procedures and internal controls in order to safeguard assets and provide proper accounting including compliance wit Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404. 

·  Coordinates with Technitrol on financial reporting, tax, treasury, risk management and legal issues. 

·  Leads – with assertiveness and ownership – global working capital management including performance reporting on appropriate metrics. 











KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE 

The successful candidate will have a good economic background and broad financial experience as a result of their progressive movement through a broad range of finance and accounting positions.  Candidates should have experience with an international manufacturing organization (particularly China) and be comfortable managing a diverse staff. 

 

The successful candidate will be a combination of business partner and financial accounting/analysis expert.  While the bulk of the day to day responsibilities will be focused specifically on financial activities, this individual will lead his/her team in viewing their financial management activities as strategic components to the overall business strategy.  The candidate will have a demonstrated ability to build and mentor an effective team with a focus on customer service to the rest of the organization.

 

Specific desired experience includes:

 

·  Significant technical knowledge of GAAP accounting rules, cost accounting in a manufacturing environment and awareness of statutory reporting requirements. 

·15 + years of progressive experience managing the Corporate or Large Divisional Accounting or Controls function. 

·  Emphasis on decision making and problem solving to work out reasonable and fair solutions which can be supported by key individuals. 

·  Prior financial experience of progressively increasing responsibilities in manufacturing or high-tech companies. 

·  Significant prior experience with international operations including accounting, tax, customs, and legal issues.





 

EDUCATION 

An undergraduate degree in finance, accounting or a related field is required. A CPA is mandatory. An MBA is strongly preferred.
