Staff Accountant

Position Summary:

Manage deposits and disbursements on all accounts. Run accounts payable and accounts receivable aging reports to determine correct timing of outgoing payments, and to identify which receivables need to be tracked down. Interact with internal and external individuals to gather information and resolve problems.

 Essential Functions:

1.              Cash Deposits for all accounts

2.              Post cash receipts in accounting system

3.              Stop Payments on uncleared checks as instructed and when necessary.

4.              Enter invoices into A/P module

5.              Accounts Payable on all accounts

6.              Run Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable Aging Reports

7.              Perform check runs and obtain the necessary signatures for checks

8.              Interact with outside and internal personnel to resolve payment/receipt discrepancies

9.              Accounts Payable filing

10.           Open and route mail

11.           Yearly 1099 processing and filing

13.           Prepare analysis and adjusting journal entries needed for monthly close

14.              Work closely with Senior Accountant and VP of Finance and Accounting in identifying other projects where skills, experience, and knowledge can be utilized.

 Education, Experience and Skills Required:

1.              Accounting related degree preferred

2.              Effective organization, follow-up, communication, and interpersonal skills

3.              Possess an intuitive and proactive approach to business problems and solutions

4.              Exhibit good listening skills and a willingness to help and support others

5.              Intermediate skill level in PC software (Word, Excel and other software, as required)
