The Charge Services Manager is responsible for the oversight of revenue capture and the maintenance of the Cerner Charge Services (Revenue) system application.  This position will require a unique combination of understanding the revenue cycle within PPH and the infrastructure of the charge services application and the other Cerner system applications that impact revenue posting.  Daily activities will include strategizing and oversight of staff to troubleshooting suspended charges, investigating Cerner clinical build errors, and investigating root causes for revenue spikes and significant drops.  The Charge Service Manager ensures the appropriate resolution of suspended charges.  The manager stays current on the industry activity and trends for revenue and billing codes housed in the Charge Description Master (CDM).  This individual provides strategic direction and strategy for effective Charge Description Master (CDM) set up and maintenance to ensure regulatory compliance and reasonable prices for services provided at PPH.  The manager ensures that all regulatory updates for billing codes are updated in the CDM on a timely basis.  Individual works closely with clinical management, DBC, IT, PFS and other individuals in refining the build structure of Charge Services.  Works closely with IS support and department personnel in developing solutions to correcting errors.  Assists Finance, Financial Planning and Managed Care in assessing mapping details.  Performs other duties as assigned.  Follows PPH rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws, and standards.  Carries out the mission, vision, values, and quality commitment of PPH.

 

Minimum Education:  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent.  Preferred Education:  Certified coding specialist, RHIT, RHIA.  Minimum Experience:  5 years acute hospital experience in Financial Management functions and demonstrates strong problem solving and project management skills.
