Finance Manager for International Non-Profit Organization

Humanitarian non-profit agency with the vision and commitment to saving lives and sustaining livelihoods, is currently in search of a Finance Manager.  Under the supervision of the Finance Director, the incumbent will both implement and provide financial leadership over all international and domestic day-to-day fiscal management policies and procedures in the headquarters office.

 Responsibilities:  Prepares agency's monthly financial statements Under the supervision of the Finance Director, timely and accurately prepares and produces donor monthly, quarterly, final expense and federal cash transaction reports as required by the donor project agreements. Closely works with overseas program offices and HQ Program Directors and produces internal projects budget status reports on a regular monthly basis. Ensures expenditures are allocated to appropriate grant accounts. Ensures that all expenditures conform to any limits or exclusions set forth in RI, Federal Government, other donor Procurement Policies and audit requirements. Ensures consistency with policies, regulations and procedures through application of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Assists in preparation of budgets for new proposals to donors, in coordination with the Program Directors, International Controller and/or Executive Director. Prepares budget revisions of the current grant budgets if required, and recommends cost reduction procedures or actions. Ensures timely preparation of all IRS and tax documents, as required, including the filing of amended tax returns. Ensures timely cash drafts for federal grants. Works with auditors, banks, payroll companies, and federal and state tax agencies, as necessary, in the implementation of the tasks listed above.

Qualifications:  BA in Accounting, Economics, or Finance. Minimum of 4 years finance experience at supervisory level. Previous experience in non-profit organizations, preferably international organization. Strong leadership ability, outstanding written and verbal communication skills are a must. Familiarity with Quickbooks software, grant reporting, fund accounting, tax reporting, and payroll systems highly desirable.
