Controller

The AVID Center, a non-profit educational corporation, is seeking applicants for the position of Controller.  This position is a full-time, exempt position, located at the Corporate Office in San Diego, California.  The position reports to the Executive Vice President of Operations and Administration.  The ideal candidate will possess a positive and professional attitude, flexibility, attention to detail, will be a fast learner and be able to get along with a diverse group of individuals. 

The qualifications for the position are as follows:  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting plus eight years experience as a controller for a medium-sized organization.Responsible for directing an organization’s accounting principles, practices, procedure, and initiatives.Demonstrated ability to create solutions, identify resources.Manage self and team to ensure goal achievement.Displays consistently excellent team orientation.Communicates proactively and constructively; is flexible and willing to pursue constant improvement.Ability to organize, prioritize and effectively manage multiple tasks concurrently.Proficient in computer applications – Microsoft Work, Excel and Dynamics accounting applications.Staff supervision experience preferred
