Associate Financial Analyst

Responsible for completing P&L’s and analyzing costs for the Company’s sports and entertainment trading card products and collectibles.  Will complete formal P&L’s as well as scenarios in order to evaluate proposed changes to the current product structure.  Will assist in the completion of P&L’s for the Annual Operating Plan (AOP).  Will complete variance analysis for projects, review vendor quotes, complete vendor comparison analysis and special projects.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

· Completes Brief, Post Engineering, Final Forecast and Final Quote P&L analysis for sports and entertainment products..

· Reviews vendor quotes for accuracy and acceptable pricing.

· Works closely with Marketing and Operations teams to identify and evaluate cost saving opportunities.

· Completes variance analysis for P&L’s versus prior versions.

· Supports the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and reforecasts by updating current P&L’s and completing benchmark P&L’s for new products.

· Compares vendor quotes to aid in vendor selection.

· Tracks late and additional charges in projects.

 EDUCATION/YEARS EXPERIENCE

· BA/BS in Mathematics, Economics, Finance or equivalent experience.

· 2+ years of experience in budgeting cost estimation/accounting and/or financial analysis or in a related area.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

· Knowledge of commonly used budgeting cost estimation/accounting and/or financial analysis concepts, practices, and procedures.

· Working knowledge of financial statements.

· Knowledge of basic budgeting.

· Knowledge of sports and the sports and entertainment toy, trading card or trading card game industry a plus.

· Strong oral and written communication skills.

· Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem solving, troubleshooting and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple, high priority projects with a keen attention to detail.

· Ability to perform duties under minimal supervision while exercising independent judgment.

· Professional demeanor; team player orientation. Ability to interface with all levels in the organization.

· A high degree of confidentiality required.

· Proficiency in the following software or systems: MS Word, MS Excel (advanced), MS Access, and JD Edwards OneWorld.
