Corporate Office

This position is located at our Corporate offices in Milwaukee, WI and is involved in all aspects of general accounting and is the key support role for the General Ledger and Fixed Asset functions. This position involves analytical review of Corporate department expenses, preparation of Corporate financial statements and reconciliation of General Ledger accounts. This position also provides support for the annual Corporate budgeting process. This position works independently with minimal supervision.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

Reviews treasury cash postings and prepares adjusting journal entires to classify miscellaneous cash transactions properly in the general ledger.

Oversees inter-company billing process, including maintenance of intercompany web portal, responding to divisional accounting staff inquiries and working with divisional accounting staff to resolve intercompany imbalances.

Calculates capitalized interest on projects from all business groups, including capitalization and reconciliation.

Inputs transactional data into Oracle fixed asset and project accounting systems.

Analyzes corporate fixed asset activity, including monitoring Capital Appropriation Requests, maintaining construction in progress accounts, and capitalizing assets as appropriate.

Reconciles employee relocation advance accounts.

Responsible for the monthly closing of the corporate ledgers, including preparation of monthly closing journal entries, importing of transactions from source systems, and posting of ledgers.

Reviews all long-term debt activity to insure new issues, monthly interest accruals and retirements of debt are properly recorded and classified in the general ledger.

Assists in preparation of Corporate financial statements on a monthly basis.

Prepares general ledger reconciliations.

Oversees accounting for technology company, including posting of entries relative to revenues and costs from intellectual property, and reporting as directed by Manager.

Assists with financial and tax reporting schedules.

Participates as member of Corporate budgeting team, which provides guidance to Corporate department managers during budgeting process and consolidates department budgets.

Provides necessary reports and analyses to internal and external auditors during the financial audit.

We are seeking a candidate with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent education and experience.  2-3 years accounting experience.  Certified Public Account (CPA) or progress toward certification.  Thorough knowledge of accounting theory and its application in practice. Proven ability to prepare account analyses and reconcile accounts. Computer competency in the client-server environment using a wide range of application software. Excellent communication skills and customer focused approach. Familiarity with problem solving and process improvement techniques. Ability to manage projects and see them through to implementation.  Ability to work well independently and work well in a team setting.
